Most of us learn early on to manage ourselves rather than understand ourselves. We get good at functioning, at holding it together, at enduring our feelings without actually feeling them. It works for awhile, and then it doesn't.
In individual therapy, we'll work with what's actually going on, not just the symptoms of it. That might mean processing something old that keeps showing up, untangling stories you've inherited about who you're supposed to be, or just finally having a space where you don't have to perform okayness.
I work with adults on these topics and more:
Anxiety and depression
Gender and sexuality
Trauma via talk therapy or EMDR
Existential questions and identity
Relationship patterns and communication
Self-compassion and personal values
Kink and ethical non-monogamy

That's why I offer relationship counseling - to help romantic partners enhance their communication skills, clarify their needs, rediscover what ignited the relationship in the past, and explore the dreams and goals they share for the future.
